How did you hear about The Avenue?
I attended a dinner party at the Murdoch’s down in Hampshire and I sat next to Diana, funnily enough I had been to The Avenue once before but didn’t realise it was her business. We ended up talking about the main course we were served and she gave me a business card and told me about her son Rich and the school, well lets’ just say the rest is history. Diana our social butterfly!
How long have you been joining classes?
The first time I came to a class was in 2022, so 3 years now! And many years to come
Which classes have you done?
I’ve done a fair few from Italian Class, Mexican Street Food (twice!), Sushi and Cocktails, Ethiopian Class, Spanish Tapas Class, Chinese Class, Vietnamese Class (again twice!), and the latest was the Indian Class (the Paneer Curry slapped)
What was your favourite class at The Avenue?
I think the Friday night Mexican Street Food was my favourite with Helen, to the point I did it again a year later! I was with my partner and parents and we had such a giggle, I think the tequila was supposed to go into the meal but we ended up shotting it.. It’s the authentic Mexican way!

What’s your favourite dish to cook that you learnt with us?
The Biang Biang Noodles are so good but I substitute flour noodles for rice. A solid twist!
What was your favourite dish to eat at The Avenue?
Can’t beat the labour of love which is Sushi then eating it while the rice is still warm. Sushi night always hits different when you’ve rolled it yourself
What is the most obscure thing you have made in the kitchen?
Making a gluten free Paratha and all the talk about Ghee cracked me up, not sure it came out the same if I was to use normal flour. GF paratha? That’s some serious culinary ambition right there
What class would you like to do in the future?
The Fish Class. Bring on the filleting fun!
Any final comments?
The staff make The Avenue and can I just say a huge thank you to the chefs, front of house and the pot washers, you’re all professionals in your own way. If there was a monthly membership type product I would 100% join (if priced right)! cya Soho House membership..
Thank you so much, Charlie, we absolutely LOVE having you in the kitchen! Your kind words mean the world to us… and don’t tempt us with the membership idea…
